Self-confidence can come
from a very unexpected source

Every task requires self-confidence.

Do you have self-confidence?

Or do you constantly doubt yourself and your abilities?

You can grow your confidence in many ways. Read. Study. Ask advice from people who have already done what you want to do. Take small steps, and you'll gain confidence as you accomplish each of them.

Remember how things were in grade school? You mastered simple addition and subtraction before you were ready for multiplication and division.

We do well when we move from the basic to the more complex. Expecting to be proficient right from the start can lead to discouragement when you fail. See failure as a teacher. When you ask yourself what you can learn from it, you strip it of its power over you.

Self-confidence also comes from God. He believes in you more than you believe in yourself.

Consider Gideon, a Bible character who was filled with doubt and fear. An angel came to him and said, "The Lord is with you, mighty warrior."

And so the Lord is with you, too. God sees you very differently than you see yourself. He knows your true potential.

If you're lacking in self-confidence, ask God to give it to you. Ask him to guide and strengthen you.

The self-confidence quotes below will show you that you're not alone. But as Christians, our confidence is in Christ. Read the self confidence quotes below. Enjoy. Be strong!

Les Brown

People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in their true beauty is revealed only if there is light from within.
Elisabeth Kübler-Ross

It took me a long time not to judge myself through someone else's eyes.
Sally Field

When you have confidence, you can have a lot of fun. And when you have fun, you can do amazing things.
Joe Namath

Action is a great restorer and builder of confidence. Inaction is not only the result, but the cause, of fear. Perhaps the action you take will be successful; perhaps different action or adjustments will have to follow. But any action is better than no action at all.
Norman Vincent Peale

Self-confidence is the first requisite to great undertakings.
Samuel Johnson

One important key to success is self-confidence. An important key to self-confidence is preparation.
Arthur Ashe

Calm self-confidence is as far from conceit as the desire to earn a decent living is remote from greed.
Channing Pollock

I was always looking outside myself for strength and confidence but it comes from within. It is there all the time.
Anna Freud

It doesn't matter how many say it cannot be done or how many people have tried it before; it's important to realize that whatever you're doing, it's your first attempt at it.
Wally Amos

If you have no confidence in self, you are twice defeated in the race of life. With confidence, you have won even before you have started.
Marcus Garvey

If we all did the things we are capable of doing, we would literally astound ourselves.
Thomas A Edison

I strongly believe that the way we live is a consequence of the size of our God. The problem many of us have is that our God is too small. We are not convinced that we are absolutely safe in the hands of a fully competent, all-knowing, ever-present God.
John Ortberg

Will God ever give up on you? No! He is always ready and eager to help you begin again, to start over, and to make another attempt. He is always ready to help you persist in the pursuit of His goals for your life. Turn to Him and receive the help He so generously offers.
Charles F. Stanley
