Trust is necessary for a happy life

Trust is like a three-legged stool.

Do you trust other people? Can other people trust you? And finally, do you trust God?

Without all three of these components of trust, your life will be off-balance. You won't need anybody to tell you it's not working. You'll know.

Some of us are too trusting of other people. Caution is wise. Some of us break our word, or tell secrets, or betray our friends. How can we expect others to trust us if we only think of ourself?

And then many of us trust people more than we trust God. You may have more faith that an airline pilot will keep your life safe than God will. You may tell your innermost secrets to a friend or a therapist, but not to God.
