Here's why you matter"

Knowing why you matter puts life in perspective

It's easy to feel out of place in the world because you don't have a spouse. There were many days when I'd schlump through the daily grind wondering what it was all about and whether I really mattered.

I don't feel that way any more. It took a lot of time, a lot of reading and studying, and a lot of praying, but I finally came to understand that I have a place in the world, and it doesn't have anything to do with how much money I make, how good-looking I am (or am not), or whether I have any kind of talent.

This month I'd like to pass on what I learned to you. And remember, I'm no guru or saint or wise man. I'm just somebody trying to figure things out, like you are.

Since I'm older than most of you reading this, I had the chance to figure them out before you do. I'm passing on my thoughts to mark the trail ahead so you'll know what's coming.

If you're having a bad day or a bad week or even a bad life, here are some reasons why you matter.

Kid of the King

You can have your big celebrities
with designer shades and clothes.
'Cause nothing's real in Hollywood
and nobody has their old nose.

You can see I'm no fashion model,
my duds kind of drag and droop.
Oh I'm not in with the In Crowd,
but I don't give a flying whoop.

I've got something much better,
an unbelievable thing.
I've got privileges others can't touch
'cause I'm a kid of the King.

Yeah I'm a kid of the King,
and royalty has its perks.
There's a big old inheritance waiting for me
'cause that's how His Kingdom works.
Oh I'm gonna live forever;
I'm so happy I dance and sing.
I kick up my heels and I boogie on down,
'cause I'm a kid of the King.

The Kingdom is open to you too,
It's not hard for you to get in.
You put your faith in Jesus as Lord
and the King will forgive your sin.

There's a crown designed for your head,
and we'll give you a royal ring.
Then you will live forever too
when you're a kid of the King!

You'll be a kid of the King,
and royalty has its perks.
There's a big old inheritance waiting for you
'cause that's how His Kingdom works.
Oh you're gonna live forever;
You'll be happy and dance and sing.
You'll kick up your heels and boogie on down,
'cause you'll be a kid of the King!

July quotation from Dr. Lee Roberson

July's quotation of the month comes from Dr. Lee Roberson, former pastor of the Highland Park Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA:

Remember, God knows about every tear which comes to our eyes. Christ cares and is concerned about us. Your heartaches are known to Him.
~ Lee Roberson (1909-2007) ~

Sometimes it's hard for us singles to remember we're not alone in this life. That's what Satan would like you to believe, and fellow single, if Jesus Christ said Satan is real, you can trust that he is.

But feeling alone is not proof that you are, because feelings are unreliable. What is reliable is the Bible. Check out this verse: "The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” (Deuteronomy 31:8, NIV)

God's love for you is the most real, dependable thing in your life. When you go to bed tonight, smile and thank God for his unchanging faithfulness. His invisible hand of guidance, protection and love is on your shoulder tonight, tomorrow, and forever.

Will more money solve everything?

Life is expensive! Just paying the utilities, housing, and maintaining a car can put your back against the wall. Many singles think more money would solve everything.

Or would it?

In How to Master Your Money you'll learn a crucial truth: why you spend. Once you understand what's motivating you, that knowledge puts you in control instead of other forces.

We hear a lot about freedom, but in How to Master Your Money you'll discover how to be free from the tyranny of conformity. This insider information reveals how the system works to separate you from your hard-earned cash and leave you wondering, "Why did I do that?"

This valuable ebook comes with a money back guarantee. It's only $4.97. And, it includes a f'ree report that shows you how to easily earn back your $5--in a hurry.

Be smarter. Be contented. Check out the details on How to Master Your Money.

How to stop postponing your life

"I'll be happy when I get married." "I'll be happy when I get that promotion I'm working for." "I'll be happy when I get a new car."

We've all done it. In fact in the last Inspire-O-Gram, I talked about always having something to look forward to as a way to add excitement to your life. But until that happy event arrives, we can't just put our life on hold.

Again, postponing my life was a mistake I made that I don't want you to repeat. I didn't notice that the watch was ticking. It's always ticking, on all of us. We can't afford to waste any of our precious days by postponing our life.

Here's an article I wrote a while back so you'll be smarter than I was. See how to stop postponing your life.

Get a lift from these Strength Quotations

We can't do everything, but we can all do more than we think we can. By pushing ourselves a little, trying harder, stepping out in faith, we can often amaze ourselves. Today, at 63, I'm doing things I never thought I could do.

If you need a boost of encouragement try out these strength quotes.

Every month, more than 2,800 people receive Inspire-O-Gram, but most don't get it. They don't even open the email. I wish I knew why. If you get it--if you read it regularly and enjoy it--please do me a favor and forward your copy to a single friend who you know would get it. The subscription is f'ree, so tell them to sign up too. Thanks!

This newsletter does not come from a huge corporation. It and the web site are a one-person operation, straight from my heart to yours. If you want to email me personally, just use our bureaucracy-free contact form.

In closing, I'm working on a very unusual Secret Project which I'll offer f'ree on the web site when I finish it. It's taken many months, and I'm a little over half done. Watch future Inspire-O-Grams for an announcement on this unique freebi'e.
