Keep growing your entire life![]() We singles have to keep growing to maintain our enthusiasm for life. It's too easy to fall into a rut. We become comfortable in our routine, and the next thing you know, any extra effort becomes a real challenge. We get intellectually lazy. Apathy is a condition everyone has to fight, yet singles have to be even more vigilant because we don't have a spouse to encourage us. We have to be our own cheerleader. It's vital to accept the truth that you have to keep growing to stay interesting as a person. That means reading (and more than just the Internet), observing, talking with many types of people, reflecting on what you learn, then applying it to your life. Spirituality requires growth. If you want to get closer to Jesus--the most exciting pursuit in life, by the way--you have to make an effort. The Bible is a fascinating book if you give it a chance. It reveals the true God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Jesus shows us the character of the Father. When you know Jesus and begin to imitate him, you can't help becoming a better person. Here's one of life's little-known truths:
than it is to become a multi-millionaire. That's why Christians are so excited--sometimes nauseatingly so--because it's a gigantic thrill to get closer to God. Don't let yourself fall into the trap of thinking, "I'm fine just the way I am. I finished school." Put yourself on the path of lifelong learning. You'll become a more attractive person, have more fun, and always have something to look forward to. That's life at its best!
