We all like choice. We like the freedom to make our own decisions and pick what we think is best for us. But life, especially the single life, doesn't always work out that way.
Ideally, life would be like a cafeteria, where you choose exactly what you want, in the quantities you want, and when you want it. No misery (brussels sprouts). No suffering (spinach). Satisfying work (roast beef). Plenty of happiness and satisfaction (strawberry shortcake).
More often, life is like a restaurant, where we order off the menu, but what we actually receive can be a disappointment. Sometimes our food comes late, and sometimes they're OUT of what we want.
What to do? What to do? Well, we can cook our own meal, choosing exactly what we want, when it will be done, how it will be cooked, and how much of it. To do that means taking action, not being passive by just sitting and waiting for something good to happen.
The lesson? Step out in faith, let God guide to in making wise choices, and make it happen. Now you're cookin'.
